Why people want to own a business?
When we ask around, there are many people interested to own a business. Some already started somewhere and some haven’t started yet but at least have a thought of doing a business. Here are some tips that you can take to start your own business.
Money is the main reason why people want to own a business. If you are an employee right now, look at your company owner and imagine how much he/she earns in a year. That drives people to own a business. We can start small business for now, the best part is nobody can even stop us to grow our business to be super HUGE one day. The only person that can stop us is OURSELF. So don’t worry if your business does not give a lot of income in the beginning, most important we have to learn how to make it big and give us a lot of return in the future. A lot of people start the business because of money and a lot of people leave the business also because of money. Manage your business financial well, in shaa Allah you will make it there. If you haven’t started any business yet, and you already wanted to do the business for so long already, just start a business with your own capacity, financially and knowledge-wise, because you don’t need to be great to start, you just have to start to be GREAT.
Time is what we want. Time for ourselves, for our family, and for things we love to do, for example, traveling all over the world or having a hobby. Time is always best when we also have money at the same time. Having time without our desired income is easy, basically, we can just achieve it anytime, having time and money at the same time is the DREAM. But we need to understand, when we start a business, we need to sacrifice our time and focus on the business. We may be required to work long hours daily and even work on the weekends, but you will get to enjoy your time later in the future. Most people fail a business because they are doing the business with employee mentality, never wanting to work extra hours, and always taking a day off during holidays. I’m not saying we cannot take a rest day, but are we willing to sacrifice our time for the business, especially in the beginning?
Willingness is the most important factor to succeed in business. Willing to change our lifestyle, our character, our appearance for the business. Willing to do things that other people don’t. This is the most challenging part but through my observation, people who have high willingness, have a high chance of success in any business. When I started my business 11 years ago, my business required me to go and see people and approach them about our products and services. Being in an engineering background, I didn’t have any experience and skills to do that but because of the potential in the business that I saw back then, it made me do things that were out of my comfort zone. I also sacrificed my time for myself and invested all my time for the business even on the weekends and public holidays just to see my business grow. We always need to understand what has to be done and what not for the business. Always do the right things, not the easy ones.
Remember, wherever you put your energy to, it will grow.
If you put a lot of energy into your business, the business will grow. If we don’t, the business most probably will fail.
