Everybody Have a Dream

Everybody have a Dream. Be it small or big, a dream is still a dream.
There are short term dream and long term dream. For example, to upgrade current car to a better one consider as short term, to have a luxurious retirement lifestyle is a long term.
After all, having a dream is very good, but we must make sure that our dream or what we want is very clear. Some of our family and friends might have doubt or even laugh at us about what we want to achieve, but that is OK, because having a dream is like a having a purpose to live, if not, we don’t know what we are fighting for and ended up being in a comfort zone and just accept the life that we have right now.

First we have to know what do we want? Then only you can figure out how to achieve it.
Let me give you a scenario as an example.
I have a car. I bought it while I just started to work with my first job. I need a car because I need a transportation to go to work and I have no choice because my workplace does not have access with any public transportation and my work required me to travel for meeting clients etc. So basically, I just need a car not something fancy. So I bought a normal car like Perodua Viva just so that I can go to work and earn my income for a living.

Years have come and go, I get married to my lovely wife and with God willing, I have children. So right now, I need to upgrade my car not only for my work but to provide better and more comfortable car for my family. I need something bigger, for example Proton Persona. Obviously, it will cost me higher on a monthly basis.

The question now:
Do I have enough savings to pay for the first downpayment and does my income right now have enough to pay for the monthly installment? It all depends on how much my increment I get throughout these years.

  • If you do have enough, Alhamdulillah.
  • But if you don’t, you have no choice to cut some of your daily expenses and make it enough to pay for the car.

These causes problems because we will never be happy if we need to downgrade our lifestyle. Even if we get the car that we want, maybe we still not happy with our financial status.

So basically, wherever we are right now, we must always think about the potential income that we need in the future and ask ourselves:
Does my current job or career able to give our desired income in the future?

Even if we love our job right now but it cannot give our desired income, maybe we have to look for other options.
Maybe different company, maybe different industry, or maybe doing something different that we never think of before. Open your options and seek for a lot of opportunities.

Don’t be afraid to make changes and get out from the comfort zone. Worry more if we cannot provide the best for ourself and for our beloved family.

We won’t get a fortune without taking a risk. We may not achieve our Dreams because it is all Rezeki from Allah, but most importantly, we FIGHT for our own DREAM, NOT somebody else’s dream.
